Qualifications

  • Substantial industry experience and a reputation for technical excellence.
  • Professional membership (CEng, IEng etc.) or working towards this is desirable.
  • Ability to write SAT documents and detailed understanding of safety legislation.

Job description

Summary:

Do you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring the quality installation of MEICA components?

Are you a highly organized and proactive MEICA professional ready to take the lead on site?

As a Senior Site MEICA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of capital projects by providing technical leadership and ensuring the quality commissioning of all MEICA elements.

Reporting to the Lead EICA Engineer, you will manage the Site MEICA Engineers, oversee commissioning activities in adherence to specifications and safety regulations, and review project plans.

Your focus will be on delivering projects within scope, without interruptions, while driving innovation and providing technical support to various stakeholders. Effective collaboration with internal teams and site owners will be key to ensuring efficient commissioning and successful project close-out.

Main Responsibilities

  • Discipline line management of the Site MEICA Engineers in line with the requirements of the Lead MEICA Engineer.
  • Provide, advise and take technical quality responsibility for commissioning activities in line with specifications and appropriate Health and Safety Legislation, with input from the Lead MEICA Engineer.
  • Review and agree commissioning plans and programmes for projects.
  • Ensure projects are carried out in line with the defined scope and commissioning plan.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered without any unplanned interruptions.
  • Provide a technical support to the design engineers, assets team, contractors, Site MEICA Engineers.
  • Seek to innovate and drive improvements in design, installation and procedures.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders for contribution to successful project delivery.
  • Ensure commissioning activities are carried out efficiently throughout the project.
  • Liaise with site SEW owners to assist the Project Managers in the successful closing out of schemes.
  • Ensure the Operations teams are fully trained and conversant with the functionality of all new equipment.

You'll need:

Skills / Qualifications / Experience

  • Engineer with substantial industry experience and a reputation for technical excellence with demonstrable experience
  • Ideally Degree qualified in electrical engineering or related discipline or HNC/D with proven exceptional technical expertise
  • Professional membership of an institution (CEng, IEng etc) or working towards this
  • Telemetry system knowledge
  • PLC / HMI code verification and fault finding at an in-depth level.
  • To assist SEW Production teams with site issues inc. Process and Control
  • Ability to write SAT documents.
  • Site Optimisation guidance to Production teams.
  • Project manage small MEICA schemes.
  • Detailed understanding of methodically working through software testing and functional design specifications/site acceptance tests.
  • A good understanding of the legislation governing electrical safety/quality and ideally have been previously appointed as an Authorised Person at LV, but not essential.
  • Good understanding of EICA operational systems with knowledge of mechanical and process equipment.
  • Experienced in technical delivery to meet regulatory and business objectives.
  • Ability to exercise sound engineering judgement and decision making in complex situations.
  • An ability to work as part of a team and exercise sound judgement in complex situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to positively adapt approach in any given situation.

Compensation package:

Up to £60,000 depending on experience
