Senior Site Manager - Construction

We're looking for a Senior Site Manager to join our regional construction business in Southampton.

Location: Southampton, Hampshire

Responsibilities

As Senior Site Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of construction works in line with Kier's programme and quality standards. You will oversee multiple subcontractors and Kier staff on site, ensuring progress against the programme, and providing solutions and advice for any challenges encountered.

  • Manage and direct subcontractor partners under the project manager's guidance to deliver work packages such as groundworks, drainage, structural frame erection, roofing, cladding, interior fit-out, and finishes, ensuring safety.
  • Assess work carried out by subcontractors to ensure alignment with programme, design drawings, and quality standards.
  • Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements from subcontractors to confirm safe and appropriate working methods.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and site inductions to ensure full compliance with Kier standards.
  • Coordinate site logistics, including movement of plant and labor, maintaining safety at all times.
Requirements

This role is ideal if you:

  • Have a relevant construction qualification or accreditation (Degree, HND, Technical Trade, etc.)
  • Have significant experience managing within the main contractor construction environment
  • Hold SMSTS 5-Day, CSCS card, First Aid certification, and a full UK driving license
