Job description

Building a sustainable tomorrow

BAM Construction is recruiting a Senior Site Manager to manage external and offsite road works on a project in Rosyth at the South West Fife Secondary School.

We need someone with a proven track record of supporting the construction and completion of high value projects on time and on budget. Reporting to the Project Manager, the ideal candidate must have a broad technical construction knowledge in complex substructures, reinforced concrete and steel frame construction, along with the requirement to understand and manage packages both internal and external of the building.

Your mission

  1. Implementing the Project Management Plan, including all site procedures and practices and completing records and documentation.
  2. Ensuring compliance with the health and safety Management Plan and BAM Operating Procedures.
  3. Setting up and monitoring handover schedules, keys, spares, and completion documentation.
  4. Ensuring BAM construction environmental procedures are implemented on site.
  5. Keeping a site diary including records of subcontractor attendance and progress.
  6. Ensuring that appropriate quality records are being produced and monitored to verify that the works are being completed in accordance with the specified requirements.
  7. Managing direct and subcontract labour and the keeping of records and allocation sheets.
  8. Advising on buildability issues as required.
  9. Management and ordering of materials.
  10. Use of IT equipment including onsite QA and digital information.
  11. Taking an active role and responsibility for mandatory requirements such as COSHH, lifting, temporary works, services coordination.
  12. Understanding BIM and the use of field 360.

Who are we looking for?

  1. Experience of external and highways works.
  2. A broad construction-based technical experience.
  3. A relevant Health & Safety qualification and be competent to carry out site management tasks they are directed to do.
  4. Confident in the use of IT packages and systems.
  5. HNC/Degree, MCIOB or equivalent or a trades background.
  6. Valid driver’s licence.
