Introduction to role
Our client is a global market leader in material handling systems. Working within Heathrow projects, the Senior Site Manager will be responsible for elevating leadership standards within the construction team and delivering both baggage and non-baggage work packages in line with the programme schedule. The role operates within the VI site management structure on large and complex projects. Based mainly on-site and from our London Office, the Senior Site Manager will ensure customer excellence within our key account portfolio at Heathrow. The role involves acting as an enabler for the team’s mission and vision, harnessing leadership, setting standards, and fostering a positive collaboration culture with a focus on safety and continuous improvement. The candidate should understand the value of people, demonstrate motivation and results through mentorship and coaching, and focus on building future leaders and strengthening team capabilities according to the company’s strategy and core values.

Role Responsibilities
As a senior member of the construction team, the role will set and promote leadership standards through empathy, conviction, and clarity. The Senior Site Manager will serve as an ambassador for best practices, fostering curiosity and self-awareness, enhancing collaboration with internal stakeholders, and creating an effective work environment. The role emphasizes ownership, accountability, physical and psychological safety, and promoting an inclusive culture with a giving mindset.

Role Qualifications
• 5-10 years in a leadership role, primarily focused on people management

• Over 5 years of managing large teams on complex projects with proven results
• Experience across all project phases from pre-construction to handover
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and HASWA
• Experience in culture building and change management
• Ability to develop robust site plans aligning with project schedules
• Competence in producing and managing documentation
• IT literacy with MS Office and Outlook
• Proven safety record in high-pressure environments
• Ability to champion safety cultures and standards
• Capable of producing reports and managing project quality
• Commercial awareness and successful management skills
