Job summary

Brown & Wills Recruitment is seeking a Senior Site Manager for a large new build project in the Leicester area, joining a Tier 1 main contracting business. The role focuses on day-to-day operational management of the Site Management team and subcontractor control, reporting to a Senior Project Manager.

This is a long-term fixed-term opportunity circa 80 weeks, offering continuity of work across one project from start to finish.

Qualifications

• Senior Site Management experience in the newbuild sector with high value projects.
• Proven track record on commercial, mixed-use or education schemes.
• Qualifications include HNC/HND, SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS and strong IT/paperwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction and support of the operational delivery team.
• Liaise and manage sub-contractors onsite as required.
• Report directly to the Senior Management team on daily performance and delivery issues.
• Able to deal with tough negotiations and the pressure of a large new build project.
• Ensuring HS&E and quality standards, operating processes, policies and legislative requirements are understood and adhered to.
• Quality management - ensuring high standards and addressing issues with sub-contractors.
• Client interface / liaison.

Job description

A long-term fixed term requirement is available for a Senior Site Manager to provide key leadership for the project delivery team on a large newbuild project in the Leicester area, where the position will be to join a Tier 1 main contracting business.

The role will have primarily responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Site Management / Supervisory team, and control sub-contractor activity across the project, reporting to a Senior Project Manager.

Key duties / responsibilities are as follows:

• Provide leadership, direction and support of the operational delivery team.
• Liaise and manage sub-contractors onsite as required
• Report directly to the Senior Management team on daily performance, as well as being proactive on delivery issues as they arise.
• Able to deal with tough negotiations and the pressure of a large new build project.
• Ensuring company HS&E and quality standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented and adhered to at all times.
• Quality management - ensuring high standards of quality are achieved, addressing any issues with sub-contractors / trades.
• Client interface / liaison.

To be considered for this role you should fit the following criteria;

• Have a proven track record operating in a Senior Site Management position within the newbuild sector, ideally on high value projects such as commercial, mixed development or education type schemes.
• Strong on process management.
• Qualified to a minimum of HNC / HND level.
• Hold valid SMSTS, First Aid, CSCS certification.
• Strong IT / paperwork skills.
• Good communication skills.

This is a long-term opportunity for circa 80 weeks and will provide good continuity of work across one project from start to competition.
