Job summary

Persimmon Homes is seeking a Senior Site Manager to lead a construction site in Barnstaple. You will ensure delivery on time, to specification, and in compliance with safety standards.

The role requires coordinating with subcontractors, authorities, and warranty providers to keep the build programme on track. You will manage staff and site records, call off materials, and drive collaboration with Sales and Customer Care to address issues and provide timely plot updates.

Qualifications

• Experience managing the full lifecycle of a construction development site.
• Understanding of the house building industry and related standards.
• Knowledge of NHBC/LABC/Premier standards and Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
• CSCS Card and SMSTS certification are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage a construction site to complete development on time, to specification and in line with safety regulations.
• Direct and supervise the workforce and subcontractors to meet quality and budget targets.
• Coordinate with external third parties (warranty providers, local authorities, utilities) to ensure build programme progress.
• Maintain accurate records (inductions, safety, quality checks, timesheets, incident reports).
• Ensure materials are called off timely and stored per group guidelines.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Care to resolve issues and update plot progress.
• Ensure compliance with the Group Health, Safety and Environment policy and minimise incidents.
• Role involves travel across sites in the region and occasional trips to other offices.

opportunity to join the Persimmon Homes Construction Team as a Senior Site Manager reporting into the Contracts Manager. The purpose of the role is to manage the construction site according to company guidelines and goals, ensuring all aspects of the project are in conformity with proposed budgets, timelines and construction and quality standards. What you'll do as a Senior Site Manager: Manage a construction site, to ensure the development is completed on time, to specification and safety regulations, while complying with company and construction build and quality standards Ensure all quality and safety inspections are within quality control standards and carried out in accordance with Group guidelines Facilitate communication and coordinate activities with external third-parties, such as warranty provider, local authorities and utility companies to ensure achievement of the build programme Maintain accurate records for the development including but not limited to, staff inductions
Health, Safety and Environment, timesheets, incident reports, quality control checklists Ensure materials are called off in a timely manner and checked and stored in accordance with Group guidelines Direct and supervise activity of the workforce, including all subcontractors,to ensure works are completed on time, to the desired quality standards and within budget Work cohesively with other departments across the Operating Company such as Sales and Customer Care to ensure achievement of targets, for example prompt resolution of customer care issues and timely updates relating to plot progress Ensure compliance of the site workforce and all visitors with the Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy to minimise incidents and accidents This role will involve travel across various sites in the region as well as occasional trips to other Group offices What experience do I need?
