Job summary

RGB Recruitment Ltd in Bristol is seeking a General Foreman for a major highways and civil engineering project. This permanent, full-time site-based role focuses on the day-to-day delivery, safety, quality and programme adherence.

You will lead site teams, coordinate labour and subcontractors, plan resources, and ensure compliance with method statements and environmental requirements, working closely with project management and engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering highways or major civil engineering projects.
• Experience across roads, drainage and infrastructure works.
• Strong site leadership and people-management skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors and site resources.
• Good knowledge of health, safety and quality requirements.
• Ability to work in busy, logistically challenging environments.
• Proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Managing and coordinating daily site operations
• Leading site teams, direct labour and subcontractors
• Planning labour, plant, materials and other resources
• Working to short-term programmes and project milestones
• Coordinating works within a live highways environment
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements
• Monitoring quality and productivity
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with method statements
• Maintaining accurate site records, reports and diaries
• Identifying potential issues and resolving them before they impact programme
• Working closely with engineers and the wider project team
