Job summary

Metlen Energy & Metals seeks a Senior Site Engineer to lead on-site technical delivery of Solar PV and BESS projects across the UK. You will oversee civil, electrical and mechanical works, coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams, and ensure safety, quality and programme compliance.

You will bring 5+ years of site engineering experience, a Civil/Electrical/Mechanical degree, strong leadership and problem-solving skills, and a UK driving licence with willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of site engineering or construction experience
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in multidisciplinary contractor-led environments

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and engineering oversight for on-site delivery of Solar PV and BESS projects
• Lead and coordinate civil, electrical, and mechanical workstreams on site
• Act as technical point of contact for subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders
• Review and approve engineering drawings, specs, method statements and ITPs
• Monitor construction against design, programme and UK standards
• Raise and manage RFIs, technical queries, and corrective actions
• Lead site inspections, testing, commissioning and handover
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC, HSE and project specs
• Support risk assessments, permits to work and other control documentation
• Maintain comprehensive site records
