Job summary

First Military Recruitment is partnering with a leading construction business to recruit a Senior Site Engineer for a Cumbria depot on a permanent basis. The role covers project delivery, site coordination and technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

Key requirements include a Civil Engineering qualification and significant site engineering experience, with nuclear sector exposure and the ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience within the Nuclear sector is essential.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and engineering principles.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work fronts.
• Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities

• Deliver and coordinate project activities within your area of responsibility.
• Lead, mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and third-party stakeholders for safe delivery.
• Plan and manage site activities with construction and supervision teams.
• Produce and maintain rolling three-week look-ahead programmes.
• Identify risks, constraints and opportunities impacting delivery.
• Ensure permits, inductions and approvals are in place before works.
• Maintain quality documentation and project records.
• Support audits, inspections and assurance activities.
• Promote a right-first-time safety culture.
