Job summary

Bimplus, the Site Engineer for a major civil engineering contractor will be based in Yorkshire, delivering multi-discipline heavy civil infrastructure schemes across the region.

The role requires a construction-related degree with civil operations/design exposure, and a working toward a recognised qualification. Strong communication, commercial awareness and a proactive safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• The role requires a degree in a construction related subject and preferably some experience in civil engineering operations and design. Individuals must have or are working towards a recognized qualification
• Strong communication to both team and external parties with good commercial acumen and contract knowledge

Responsibilities

• Ensure project deliverables are understood through handover with process teams including estimating, design, commercial, procurement, plant and operations
• Monitor project performance daily with the project team; close out actions, risks and non-conformities to maximise margins
• Prepare and collate contract documentation and obtain approvals prior to site mobilization
• Prepare site documentation and communicate deliverables to the site team; attend site on complex or large projects as directed
• Record all changes to project deliverables with the customer, involving the commercial department
• Review monthly financial performance and revise project forecasts weekly; manage contract purchases/costs
• Work with the process team to ensure efficient project delivery
• Develop relationships with customers to understand requirements and align with business needs
• Ensure compliance with business strategy and procedures
