- Read and understand the Company's Safety Statement and ensure that it is brought to the notice of any employee under your control.

- Ground conditions affecting the stability of excavations or safety of operatives (soil, water table, toxic substances, gases, etc.).
- Report to Site Manager any unsafe situation observed whilst on site.
- Carry out your own work in a safe manner, take precautions when working on or near public roads or water, wear any necessary protective clothing or equipment.
- Ensure that records are maintained of any underground services laid on site and that, wherever possible, these are defined by marker posts and signs during the construction period.
- Ensure that any design calculations/temporary works certificates for bespoke scaffolds, falsework, etc. are independently checked.
- Should the Project Manager/Site Agent be absent, the Site Engineer will assume this temporary role regarding Health and Safety and Environmental Issues.
- Be familiar with the company's HSQE management systems.
- Be familiar with current statutory requirements related to HSE Legislation or know where to find the correct information.
- Be familiar with the Form of Contract on the Project and understand the implications of any variation or change orders on the program and costs.
- Understand the project program and the implications of any overrun concerning costs and manpower.
- Check and understand Specifications, Drawings, and other Contract Documents.
- Set out, level, and survey the site in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications.
- Prepare As-built drawings, technical reports, site diaries.
- Liaise with the purchasing department to ensure purchase orders specify requirements accurately.
- Requisition materials and plant.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, site supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project.
- Manage the site daily, supervising and monitoring the labor force and subcontractors.
- Plan the work and organize plant and site facilities to meet deadlines.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager/planner regarding the construction program and constraints.
- Ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
- Resolve technical issues with employer’s representatives, suppliers, subcontractors, and authorities.
- Maintain quality control according to company procedures, method statements, quality plans, and inspection/test plans.
- Check materials and work in progress for compliance with requirements.
About You
Requirements:
- A degree in engineering or equivalent experience demonstrating competency in the role.
- Membership in the relevant Professional Institution.
- Relevant construction experience and a track record on similar projects, with a commitment to safety and environmental standards.
- Full Clean Driving License.
- Authorized to work in the UK.
