Job summary

Breagh Recruitment is seeking a Senior Site Engineer for a major London construction project. The role offers a salary of £60,000–£70,000 with a package including vehicle/fuel allowance and flights & accommodation.

The project is a £50m+ multi-storey commercial development, requiring experience with reinforced concrete, complex substructure and high-spec finishes. An established main contractor with a strong reputation across Britain/Ireland is hiring.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related construction field.
• 5+ years' experience as a Site Engineer with a main contractor in Ireland or Britain.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day engineering activities on site, ensuring safety and alignment with programme.
• Manage setting out and engineering control for structural works including reinforced concrete and substructures.
• Take responsibility for quality assurance, inspections and technical records to meet drawings and standards.
• Collaborate with Site Manager, Project Manager and wider team to resolve technical issues before they impact schedule.

Overview

Are you a Senior Site Engineer looking to work on a major £50m+ construction project in London with an award winning Main Contractor?

This is an opportunity to take a key engineering role on a technically challenging multi storey commercial development involving a significant structural package, reinforced concrete works, complex substructure and high specification internal finishes.

You’ll be joining an established Main Contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex, high quality projects across Britain and Ireland, including landmark commercial, hotel, residential, education, cultural and fit out developments.

They place a major emphasis on professional development and have been independently recognised as one of the leading employers within the construction industry in Ireland and Britain.

For an Engineer looking to build a long term career with a contractor delivering distinctive, technically challenging projects, there is a clear opportunity to progress into Site Management and Project Management positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee day to day engineering activities across the project, ensuring works are completed safely, accurately and in line with programme requirements.
• Manage setting out and engineering control for structural works, including reinforced concrete, substructure and associated civil engineering packages.
• Take responsibility for quality assurance, inspections and technical records, ensuring works meet drawings, specifications and required standards.
• Work closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager and wider construction team to identify and resolve technical issues before they impact programme.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or another relevant construction discipline.
• 5+ years of experience working as a Site Engineer with a Main Contractor in Ireland and/or Britain.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, consultants, subcontractors and clients.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage engineering priorities on a busy construction project.

The Package

An excellent package is on offer with a salary in the region of £60,000 - £70,000 along with Vehicle & Fuel/Living Away Allowance + Flights & Accommodation (if required).
