Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to join the Energy Team on the ETP Project in Cardiff. You will lead health, safety and environmental best practices, support temporary works, and coordinate with clients, designers and the project team to ensure accurate drawings and specs.

You will develop safe systems of work, manage site activities, and maintain rigorous documentation including risk assessments, RAMs and ITPs, contributing to a disciplined EPC delivery environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction or civil engineering projects.
• Knowledge of ITPs, RAMs and temporary works.
• Familiarity with current civil engineering legislation and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Establish best practice for health, safety and environment with SHQE.
• Assist with temporary works design schemes.
• Communicate with client, designer and team to ensure clarity.
• Oversee materials and plant selection for construction.
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements for works.
• Maintain detailed daily site diary and records.
• Ensure inspection and test plans meet PMP/spec requirements.

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Site Engineer to work with Energy Team on the ETP Project in Cardiff.

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Site Engineer:

• Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.
• Assist with temporary works design schemes
• Maintain good working relations with client / designer / Team, together with our supply chain.
• Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques.
• Ensure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works. Formally request any missing information in sufficient time to allow theprogramme to proceed without delay.
• Communicate with foremen and supervisors to ensure full understanding of information provided.
• Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant for the use in the construction process.
• Prepare written risk assessments and method statements for the control of the works.
• Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes/variations, subcontractors’ attendance, and records of work related discussions with client / designer / project team.
• Ensure that inspection and test plans are completed as required by the PMP / Specification, including a check of dimension accuracy and quality

• Experience in Construction or Civil Engineering projects.
• Experience within ITPs, RAMs & Temporary Works.
• Excellent knowledge of current civil engineering legislation as well as Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Ability and confidence to discuss engineering issues with people across various levels and disciplines.
• Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
