CK Group are recruiting for a Shift Senior Site Chemist, to join a hazardous waste management company, based at their site near Birmingham, on a full-time, permanent basis, with a salary of up to £32,000 per annum.

Please note: This is a shift role, involving nights and outdoor work, not in a laboratory.

As a Senior Site Chemist, your responsibilities include:

• Accepting and inspecting all incoming assignments of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste, following relevant regulations and site procedures.
• Working in shifts: morning (6am-3pm), afternoon (1pm-10pm), and night (10pm-6am), totaling 40 hours per week.
• Ensuring all waste consignments have proper paperwork.
• Completing waste safety checks for acceptance, storage, processing, and transfer.
• Sampling received waste for analysis by the internal laboratory.
• Routing waste efficiently to minimize costs while maintaining compliance.
• Recording waste acceptance in the SAP system.
• Labeling waste correctly with all relevant information.
• Processing waste through bulking, sorting, segregating, listing, and re-packing.
• Providing technical support to on-site staff.
• Completing necessary outgoing paperwork.

Qualifications, skills, and experience required:

• Degree or HNC in Chemistry or a related field.
• Previous experience in the Waste Industry is essential.
• Experience with SAP is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Willingness to work outdoors in hazardous chemical environments with a manual approach.
