Site Agent – Infrastructure

Location - Banwell

Purpose of the role:

As a Senior Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing your section of works, ensuring client and company performance expectations are met. The role involves supporting the delivery of a new carriageway scheme with earthworks, structures, and highways works. The programme is late through to completion. The Senior Site Agent reports to the Project Manager and leads the daily management of the works, working closely with the Works Manager and section leads.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Participate in creating a safe working environment.
  • Manage daily operations of your section, supervising site team and supply chain.
  • Plan, control, and monitor progress; coordinate project sections.
  • Manage multiple work packages, taking ownership of costs.
  • Manage scope changes, temporary works, value engineering, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Report progress and performance to the Project Manager.
  • Administer cost forecasts, valuations, and reporting systems.
  • Lead site meetings, ensure latest design information is used, and manage materials.
  • Conduct H&S checks, risk assessments, and ensure safety procedures are followed.
  • Resolve technical issues, maintain quality control, and keep site diaries.
  • Lead and manage direct reports, monitor staff capabilities, and introduce new processes.

Person Specification:

To undertake this role effectively, you need:

  • Ability to work safely.
  • Experience managing multiple packages of work.
  • Ability to interpret data, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of CDM and NEC contracts.
  • Commercial awareness, leadership, problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

  • HNC or higher in Civil Engineering.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • Relevant civil engineering experience.
