Job overview

As a Band 7, you will need previous experience working within Paediatric Intensive Care and to have completed your intensive care training. Your main responsibility will be the clinical care of critically ill children, providing an opportunity to share your knowledge, experience, and skills. This position also offers a chance to develop managerial and leadership skills.

You should thrive in a dynamic environment, be willing to teach others, demonstrate self-motivation, and work well in a team. A commitment to professional practice and delivering high-quality, holistic care in partnership with children and their families is essential.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will lead by example as an expert specialist nurse, providing clinical, organizational, and professional leadership to the nursing team. As an expert in Paediatric Intensive Care, the postholder will set and maintain high standards of nursing care for children and their families, both at the unit level and in clinical practice.

  • RSCN / RN Child with current NMC registration

Experience

  • 18 months experience at band 6 within Paediatric Critical Care
  • Experience working within a Level 3 Unit
