Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the cardiology service. We are looking for someone with extensive leadership experience in the cardiology field and a strong interest in improving patient safety. The role offers a great opportunity to contribute to safer care delivery. The successful candidate will be involved in quality improvement projects and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to establish robust systems ensuring safe practice and patient experience.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a senior member of the CCU team, leading and delivering quality governance activities at unit and professional team levels to ensure compliance with governance and risk frameworks. Responsibilities include handling complaints, gathering patient feedback, incident management, and meeting external standards such as those from the Care Quality Commission.

As Governance Lead, the post holder will play a key role in implementing the site's Safe and Compassionate Quality Improvement plan, fostering a proactive, open learning culture aligned with Bart's Health ambition to be a leader in safety and healthcare excellence.
