Responsibilities
- Lead the ICU team, ensuring safe, individualised, and effective patient care.
- Manage the nursing skill mix and provide clinical leadership.
- Support staff development and maintain high standards under pressure.
- Demonstrate effective communication and calm decision-making in complex situations.
- Provide highly specialist advice and clinical leadership to support and develop the nursing team within the department and specialty.
- Work in conjunction with the Senior Nurse Manager to develop and review standards of direct nursing care, based on research evidence and audit outcomes.
- Ensure agreed standards of care are consistently delivered to patients.
- Maintain a safe environment for staff and patients.
- Offer specialist clinical advice within the multidisciplinary team and support services.
- Promote and maintain good working relationships across the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate knowledge of all relevant Health Board policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Role details
- An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit at Withybush General Hospital as a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse. This is a fixed-term/secondment post for 18 months, offering a chance to lead and develop within a dynamic critical care environment.
- Managerial experience in ITU.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Critical Care Qualification.
- NMC Registration.
