Job summary

Serco Limited is seeking a Deputy Shift Supervisor at RAF Brize Norton, Carterton. You will lead MT Ops drivers in the Shift Supervisor's absence, coordinate daily operations and ensure transport requests follow JSP 800 Vol 5, while maintaining compliance and safety standards.

You’ll allocate and supervise MT colleagues, monitor attendance and performance, brief drivers, and promote a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence Cat D and Cat C (C+E desirable).
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC).
• IT literacy with Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of MT and Dangerous Goods Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Take on supervisory duties for MT Ops drivers when the Shift Supervisor is absent.
• Support the MT Ops Manager with daily running and coordination of MT operations.
• Ensure all transport requests are completed in line with JSP 800 Vol 5.
• Allocate and supervise MT colleagues within delegated authority.
• Monitor attendance, conduct and performance as required.
• Make sure drivers have correct documentation, equipment and task information.
• Follow procedures for reporting vehicle faults and breakdowns.
• Allocate trained personnel to suitable vehicles for each request.
• Brief drivers fully to ensure tasks are completed safely and effectively.
• Support cost effective and safe vehicle scheduling.
• Promote a strong safety first culture with zero compromise.
• Ensure compliance with Operator's Licence requirements and legislation (ISO, HASAW, COSHH).
• Use the Clarity fleet management system to support daily operations.
• Report operational, safety, compliance or risk issues to MT leadership.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of legislation and policies.
• Undertake driving duties when required.
