Job summary

J. Murphy & Sons Limited is seeking a Senior SHES Advisor to support Energy projects from Norwich to Tilbury - ATNC. You will guide managers and supervisors on health and safety responsibilities and ensure understanding of statutory duties.

The role requires civil engineering/construction experience and NEBOSH qualifications, with a focus on SHESQ compliance, audits, investigations, and continuous improvement through data analysis. Travel across sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience as SHES advisor or similar role.
• Experience in civil engineering/construction projects.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Advise and aid Managers and Supervisors to discharge their Health & Safety responsibilities towards employees as defined by legislation and company procedure.
• Ensure personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and provide advice as required.
• Aid management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements in SHESQ Plans.
• Carry out accident/incident investigations and make recommendations to prevent recurrences.
• Manage and collate data on SHESQ issues to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Assist and manage the audit programme; carry out audits when required.
• Participate in working groups/forums and in committees/joint consultations affecting the workforce.
• Monitor equipment and implement best practice with innovations for the Business Unit.
• Travel across sites as needed; provide support to Norwich to Tilbury - ATNC assignments.
