Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Senior SHES Advisor to work on energy projects at WIRP. The role focuses on guiding managers and supervisors in SHES responsibilities and ensuring compliance with SHESQ plans.

The successful candidate will investigate incidents, analyse SHES data for continuous improvement, and support audits and committee work across sites. UK driving licence and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a SHES advisor or in a Health & Safety role.
  • Civil engineering/construction experience is preferred.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and aid Managers and Supervisors to discharge SHES responsibilities as defined by legislation and company procedure.
  • Ensure personnel are aware of statutory duties and responsibilities and provide advice as required.
  • Assist management to ensure compliance with SHESQ Plans and ongoing requirements.
  • Carry out accident/incident investigations, analysing data and making recommendations to prevent recurrences.
  • Manage and collate data on SHESQ issues to identify areas for continuous improvement through trend analysis.
  • Assist and manage the audit programme; conduct audits when required.
  • Participate in working groups/forums and in committee/workforce consultations as required.
  • Monitor equipment and implement Best Practice; seek innovations for the business unit.
  • Travel as required to sites and projects to support SHESQ delivery.

A day in the life of a Murphy (H &S) Senior SHES Advisor?
  • Advise and aid Managers and Supervisors to discharge their Health & Safety responsibilities towards employees as defined by Legislation and Company procedure
  • Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required
  • Aid management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the SHESQ Plans.
  • Carry out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences
  • Manage and collate the data on SHESQ related issues to find areas for continuous improvement through trends and data analysis
  • Assist and manage the audit programme; carry out audits when required
  • Participate in working groups / forums as required
  • Participate in the work of committees and joint consultations affecting the workforce as required
  • Monitoring of equipment
  • Implement Best Practice and actively seeking innovations to introduce into the Business Unit
Qualifications
  • Previous experience within a SHES advisor, Health & Safety, or similar position
  • Experience in civil engineering/construction.
  • Solid understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001, 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 standards.
  • Full UK Licence & flexible with travel.
