Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd is seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to lead the SHEQ function at the Colchester/Harwich site. Take ownership of COMAH compliance, drive continuous improvement and shape the safety culture across the organisation.

The role reports to senior leadership, requires strong leadership and regulatory knowledge, and offers a salary up to £85,000 plus bonus and car allowance, plus generous holiday.”

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing SHEQ within a top-tier COMAH environment.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a SHEQ leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of COMAH regulations, process safety and environmental legislation.
• NEBOSH General Certificate (Diploma preferred).
• Experience with ISO management systems and auditing.
• Knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA and SIL assessments.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and risk reduction.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SHEQ function and drive a culture of health, safety, environment and quality.
• Develop and implement SHEQ strategies aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Manage COMAH compliance, including Safety Reports and emergency planning.
• Oversee HAZOP, PTW, MOC, risk assessments and site audits.
• Drive improvements across ISO 9001/14001/45001/50001 and site performance.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
