Job Description:

You will be part of our Technical Services SHEQ Team, reporting to the SHEQ Lead, providing health and safety advice, guidance, and practical support to ensure our projects meet environmental criteria and positively impact the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:

• Providing expert support to our waste collection and sortation business units.
• Assisting the SHEQ department with compliance, advice, and guidance on legislation and industry best practices.
• Preparing and reviewing risk assessments, method statements, and procedures.
• Monitoring and delivering internal audits, on-site inspections, and reporting on SHEQ performance.
• Leading incident investigations, analyzing data, and presenting findings to management.
• Vendor reviews, audits, and inspections.
• Preparing reports on performance against SHEQ objectives and supporting communications.

Person specification:

• Proven experience in a health and safety role within the waste sector.
• NEBOSH General Certificate, ideally Tech IOSH status, and familiarity with ISO standards.
• Membership of CIWM is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Experience in delivering training.
• ISO internal auditor qualification is a plus but not essential.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally up to 50% of the time.

Salary & benefits:

• £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
