Are you looking for an exciting new challenge, where you can utilise your Health, Safety, Environment and Quality experience within a construction-based environment, preferably at Hinkley Point C (HPC)? If so, this is a great opportunity for you!

What you'll do

This role is located at HPC, reporting into the Head of SHEQ. The Senior SHEQ Advisor (non-core) will be experienced and competent in managing a SHEQ function in a construction, utility, or nuclear environment, preferably at HPC. You will be comfortable building credibility to achieve buy-in for change and positively impacting an organisation's culture on SHEQ.

In this role, we are looking for a candidate who has a strong understanding of Quality management and assurance, combined with working knowledge of HS&E.

You will lead and support a team of Quality Engineers, providing coaching and mentoring across the SHEQ non-core function for Turnbull, driving awareness of SHEQ importance within the organisation. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to maintain SHEQ performance as measured by client KPIs by developing and enhancing SHEQ procedures to exceed expectations, meet legislative requirements, and align with company standards.

What you'll need
  • Experience of SHEQ management at HPC.
  • Relevant safety qualification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or Safety Management for Construction.
  • Strong understanding of quality management standards at HPC or similar industry.
  • CSCS Managers and Professionals test or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety systems like ISO9001.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence a wide range of people, often balancing conflicting requirements.
