Job summary

Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd seeks a Senior Safety, Health & Environmental Advisor for a busy engineering and manufacturing site in Chorley, Lancashire. The role is permanent, offering £50,000-£55,000 plus a package, with a hands-on, shop-floor presence driving practical SHE improvements.

You will provide practical SHE guidance across the business, lead risk assessments, RAMS, contractor management and incident investigations, collaborating with engineering and operations to strengthen

Qualifications

• Essential NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety.
• Tech IOSH membership or working towards.
• Working knowledge of ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical SHE advice across engineering, manufacturing, projects and site operations.
• Identify hazards and support the assessment and control of risks to people, plant, equipment and the environment.
• Review RAMS and ensure controls are suitable and effective.
• Provide SHE input into engineering, design, modification and project activities.
• Carrying out inspections, audits, observations and compliance activities.
• Supporting and overseeing contractor activities, inductions and agreed control measures.
• Leading or supporting investigations into accidents, near misses, RIDDOR events and environmental incidents.
• Identifying root causes and ensuring corrective and preventative actions are followed through.
• Monitoring operational activities and confidently intervening where standards are not being met.
