Qualifications

Senior Service Engineer

We require an experienced and qualified Senior Service Engineer to join our team. Working alongside the Location Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading the engineering team and contributing to the smooth running of our busy workshop to maintain our fleet and meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting the Location Service Manager in the daily operations of the workshop.
  • Ensuring 100% coverage for servicing and maintenance of our modern hire fleet.
  • Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of each machine at depot or on-site as required.
  • Producing monthly plant inspection reports and service schedules, and organizing engineers' workload to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintaining the appearance of the fleet to corporate standards.
  • Offering guidance and support in response to customer breakdown calls.
  • Locating spare parts, ensuring CE rating compliance where applicable.
  • Following guidelines in the Quality and Health & Safety policies.
  • Maintaining a basic stock control system for workshop spares.
  • Identifying training and development needs for workshop personnel.
  • Supporting depot engineers with technical assistance and advice.
About you:
  • Supervisory experience in a busy workshop environment, with the ability to set high standards.
  • Previous experience in the Powered Access industry or construction plant hire.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a maintenance/engineering discipline.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems is desirable.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a strong understanding of excellent customer service.
