Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

• Developing service strategies and visions that drive innovative solutions
• Mapping and designing complex service ecosystems, considering all touchpoints, channels, service layers and actors
• Creating high-level service prototypes, storyboards or walk-throughs to communicate, test and iterate ideas
• Collaborating with other user-centred design disciplines including supporting user research activities
• Ensuring all designs comply with the GOV.UK design system and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA)
• Working to the GOV.UK service manual, service standards, and agile delivery phases
• Engaging team members, stakeholders, and service users in co-creation activities, workshops and design sprints
• Clearly communicating service concepts and propositions through storytelling and visualisation
• Presenting work to the team and stakeholders, ensuring design approaches meet policy and regulatory objectives
• Championing the value of design thinking and empathy, influencing stakeholders to adopt a user-centred approach
• Helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement using data, user feedback, and analysis to iterate and refine services over time

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Experience developing service propositions for complex projects
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate design decisions effectively
• Proactive and happy to work as part of a team and independently
• Strong influencing skills and the ability to advocate for users
• Ability to identify and challenge constraints
• Collaborative and comfortable working in the open and receiving critique
• Knowledge of continuous improvement approaches with the ability to use data and user feedback to iterate designs
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to co-create and solve design challenges within a team and across teams
• Knowledge of the GOV.UK design system, design principles, service manual, and accessibility standards
