Purpose of the Area

Responsible for managing the smooth execution of customs & excise business processes.

Program Delivery
  • Manage accurate customs & excise reporting and ensure timely submissions to authorities.
  • Build sustainable relationships with customs & excise authorities to ensure smooth processes.
Accountability 1: Business Continuity
  • Manage customs & excise processes, including licensing, clearance, duty payments, and refunds.
  • Resolve operational issues through effective communication and coordination.
  • Monitor and control costs related to customs & excise processes.
  • Supervise third-party/vendor performance supporting these processes.
Accountability 2: Compliance
  • Lead SOP implementation and develop improvement plans for operational discrepancies.
  • Coordinate responses to audits and ensure stakeholder agreement on plans.
Accountability 3: Documentation & Submission
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of customs & excise documents.
  • Manage document retention in compliance with regulations.
Accountability 4: Program Delivery
  • Develop clear project plans and follow-up actions for customs & excise initiatives.
Accountability 5: Communication & Relationships
  • Foster collaboration with internal departments and external authorities.
Accountability 6: Continuous Improvement
  • Lead initiatives for process improvements and share best practices.
Accountability 7: People Development
  • Manage team development aligned with performance and company needs.
Education
  • Level 1: Grade 8 – supporting role in customs/excise processes.
  • Level 2: Grade 9 – responsible for complex processes with limited supervision.
  • Level 3: Grade 9 – leading all processes and managing teams.
Work Experience

Bachelor's degree in finance or industrial management preferred.

Language Skills

At least 3 years in compliance, law, external affairs, finance, or operations, preferably with government relations experience.

Functional Skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing business processes and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Visual Basic, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
