The Role
We’re recruiting for a Senior Service Delivery Manager here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative End User Compute Services (EUCS) team.
This role aligns against Head of IT Service Management from the Government Digital and Data Framework
The EUCS team is part of Technology Services in Justice Digital, a modern and diverse workplace that promotes a healthy work-life balance and flexible working options. They design, deliver and support the core infrastructure and systems that enable End User Compute Services and line of business applications for over 100,000 Ministry of Justice users across over 800 locations.
Service Delivery Managers champion the delivery and continuous improvement of products and services that supports them while owning and solving problems. They use their technical understanding, as well as knowledge of user needs and business goals to frame problems and set priorities. They may line manage other staff and support their professional development as well as be involved in recruitment.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Service Delivery Manager to work as part of the EUC Prisoner Facing Services Team, responsible for supporting users of our portfolio of Digital and Technology Services alongside our growing Digital Prisons product teams. The role is pivotal in continuing to provide a high quality service to our colleagues across HMPPS, and forms a key part of Digital Prison’s delivery practice.
The Prisoner Facing Services Team exists to create the tools that support the Prison Service so that they can provide decent, safe and productive places to live and work, and support prisons to protect the public and reduce reoffending by rehabilitating the people in our care through education and employment. Our mission is to ensure that the Digital Prison’s underpinning technology and services operate for those accessing our digital services throughout the HMPPS estate.

Key Responsibilities:
The Prisoner Facing Services Team is responsible for the overall support and reliability of Digital Prisons Services, which includes in-cell technology and prisoner educational services.
This Includes:
- Being responsible responsible for the service operation of a number of products which will be a mixture of legacy, digital and program related services
- Leading on major incident resolution and conduct post incident reviews to identify opportunities to reduce issues from occurring
- Maintaining asset lists for hardware & software licences
- Taking management information and consolidates agreed key performance indicators into product or service measures that underpin service management of a specific product or service. Leverages data analytics skills to enhance business performance
- Having an in-depth understanding of service management framework principles and processes and the ability to apply the technical knowledge in project or programme activities
- The ability to analyse current processes, manage day to day budget allocations, identify and implement opportunities to optimise processes and leads and develop a team of experts to deliver service improvements. Helps to evaluate and establish requirements for the implementation of changes by setting policy and standards
- Prioritising multiple high priority issues at any given time without sacrificing SLA commitments
- Working with the service desk and technical operations to drive service improvements
- Demonstrating confidence in technical understanding of our end to end services
- Leading cross-functional meetings to enhance communication and understanding.
- Line managing a number of IT service managers, senior application support & application support engineers
- Setting an example for and encourage open, positive, and constructive communication both within the team and when communicating with other DPS teams
- Cultivating and maintaining relationships with other teams within DPS and Justice Digital, the MoJ's Department responsible for Digital Services.
