Job summary

FlexIT Talent Solutions Ltd is seeking a Senior Server and Storage Engineer to join a South West London team. The role concentrates on server, storage and cloud technologies to deliver robust infrastructure and help define IT strategy.

You will work hybrid with up to 3 days on-site, supporting VMware, SAN, backup strategies and performance monitoring across large user environments while collaborating with technical specialists.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of physical and virtual server technologies.
• Experience with Windows Server and Linux/GPFS deployments.
• Experience collaborating with technical specialists to deliver IT services across large user environments.
• Knowledge of server monitoring and management tools such as Nagios and SolarWinds.
• Experience implementing backup standards in large-scale environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the operational management and strategic development of server, storage and virtualization services, including the on-premises VMware environment.
• Collaborate with technical specialists and wider IT teams to deliver reliable, high-quality infrastructure services.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, testing and upgrading of systems and infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with IT strategy and architectural best practice.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve performance, efficiency, productivity and cost-effectiveness.
• Support backup and recovery strategies, capacity planning, infrastructure upgrades and technology roadmaps.
• Monitor service performance and availability, ensuring agreed service levels and operational standards are maintained.
