Job summary

McCabe & Barton is seeking a Senior Security and Cyber Operations Manager to own and enhance the organisation’s security operations, cyber defence, monitoring and incident response capabilities. The role is senior and hands-on within the CISO function, focusing on strengthening cyber defence against emerging threats, including AI-enabled attacks.

Qualifications

• Senior security operations leadership experience.
• Hands-on security monitoring, incident response and detection engineering.
• Experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR and security tooling.
• Ability to translate security issues into business risk and exec-level guidance.
• Experience managing external security partners and MSPs.

Responsibilities

• Own and continually improve the organisation’s security operations and cyber defence capability.
• Lead security monitoring, detection, incident response and major incident activity.
• Stay ahead of emerging threats, including AI-enabled attacks, and ensure the organisation is prepared to respond.
• Improve detection coverage, security tooling, telemetry, automation and operational processes.
• Manage key security platforms including SIEM, SOAR, EDR and NDR.
• Provide risk based decision making around cyber incidents, containment, recovery and remediation.
• Manage external security partners and ensure effective delivery and service performance.
• Develop security operations metrics, reporting and governance for senior stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to strengthen detection, investigation and response.
