Job summary

Iceberg is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join its Cyber Security function in London. You will design and enhance security monitoring, focusing on a Microsoft-centric environment, and drive automation, threat detection, and proactive security initiatives.

In this high-impact role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement AI-intensive security solutions, and contribute to post-quantum security initiatives while operating in a regulated financial-services context.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Security Engineering, Security Automation, Detection Engineering, or SIEM Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and the wider Microsoft Security ecosystem.
• Experience building and maintaining security monitoring, detection, and response capabilities.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and/or Python.
• Experience with SOAR technologies, Logic Apps, playbooks, and workflow automation.
• Good understanding of Azure security services and cloud security principles.
• Experience integrating security tools and leveraging APIs for automation.
• Knowledge of threat detection methodologies, attack techniques, and security frameworks.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience within financial services or other highly regulated environments.
• Exposure to security innovation initiatives, AI security, or emerging technology programmes.
• Relevant Microsoft security certifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance security monitoring and detection capabilities across a Microsoft-centric environment.
• Engineer and optimise SIEM and security operations using Microsoft Sentinel.
• Develop security automation and orchestration workflows to improve response times and reduce manual effort.
• Build integrations across security tooling and infrastructure using APIs, scripting, and cloud-native technologies.
• Develop and maintain advanced threat detection use cases and monitoring controls.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to improve security posture and resilience.
• Support threat modelling, security assessments, and proactive security initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to innovation programmes focused on AI, automation, and future security challenges.
• Participate in proof-of-concepts and strategic projects focused on evolving cyber security capabilities.
