Senior Security Architect Consultant - Defence & Aviation

Job Overview

NTT DATA is seeking a highly skilled and independent Senior Security Architect Consultant to provide expert guidance, design, and implement secure solutions within the Defence & Aviation sectors. This role requires translating complex security requirements into robust architectural designs, influencing stakeholders, and promoting security best practices. The position involves working on high-impact projects supporting national security and aviation operations.

Responsibilities
  1. Security Architecture Design and Implementation: Design and implement security architectures in accordance with industry standards, regulations (JSPs, DEFSTAN), and client requirements. Conduct reviews, assessments, vulnerability scanning, configuration reviews, and security control validation. Develop security roadmaps and strategic plans. Engineer secure cloud and on-premises environments to minimize attack surfaces.
  2. Risk and Threat Management: Perform risk assessments and threat modeling. Advise on risk mitigation strategies and lead their implementation. Support security incident response and investigations, applying lessons learned to improve security posture.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement and Technical Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on secure architecture and risk management. Engage with senior stakeholders, including MOD's CSDA, Air PSyA, and CKEA, to influence security decisions. Deliver presentations and reports to technical and non-technical audiences. Provide technical leadership to project teams.
  4. Security Policy and Standards Implementation: Advise on security policies, standards, and procedures. Conduct compliance assessments and audits. Ensure alignment with security frameworks and regulations, addressing potential compliance issues proactively.
  5. Technology Evaluation, Deployment, and Management: Evaluate security technologies, lead deployment and integration, and oversee ongoing maintenance and optimization. Stay updated on emerging threats and security solutions.
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, GIAC).
  • Extensive experience in Enterprise Security Architecture within Defence/Government or Aviation sectors.
  • Proven track record of delivering security architecture projects from start to finish.
  • In-depth knowledge of security standards, regulations (JSPs, DEFSTAN), and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security and network security solutions.
  • Experience advising senior stakeholders and leading technical teams.
  • Expertise in security architecture principles, analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Must be a sole UK national with a minimum of UK SC clearance, having been in the UK consistently for the last 5 years, outside only up to 28 days.
Additional Details

Hybrid working options available, but must be willing to work on client site within the UK.
