Job summary

Cognisys Group is seeking a Senior Information Security Consultant to join our GRC Consulting team in the UK. You will deliver advisory engagements, assess security programmes and help clients improve risk posture across industries.

This predominantly remote role includes occasional local travel to client sites. You will lead client workshops, mentor junior consultants, and shape security roadmaps while applying practical judgement to real-world security challenges.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in information security or cybersecurity consulting.
• Strong client-facing and consulting skills.
• Experience advising senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Experience developing and improving security programmes.
• Exposure to ISO27001, SOC 2, NIST or similar is useful.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ongoing information security advisory engagements across a range of clients and industries.
• Lead vCISO-style advisory services and ongoing security programme development.
• Assess existing security programmes and identify opportunities to improve their effectiveness.
• Help clients prioritise security initiatives based on risk and business objectives.
• Advise on governance, risk management, controls, policies and operating processes.
• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and run remote client meetings.
