Job description

Our Client, a multi-national freight forwarder, has a vacancy for a Senior Sea Freight Operations Coordinator to manage the day-to-day activities and all related administration, as well as building relationships with potential and existing clients to ensure high standards of customer care at all times.

Main Job Purpose
  • Manage the day-to-day Sea Freight operations.
  • Coordinate the export and import bookings of Sea Freight jobs.
  • Raise job files and all appropriate operations paperwork.
  • Process jobs through the MULTIFREIGHT software system.
  • Handle customs entries using the CDS System.
  • Check all Sea Freight jobs daily and keep clients informed of any deviations from the schedule.
  • Engage in extensive client liaison and negotiation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and negotiate terms.
  • Liaise internally with the sales team for quotations and service information.
  • Manage jobs from quotation to final invoicing, ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Maximize gross profit by negotiating with suppliers.
  • Proactively contact existing clients to maximize business potential.
  • Invoice jobs upon completion.
Experience Required
  • Proven experience in Sea Freight Forwarding Operations.
  • Experience with Sea Freight exports.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience working to strict deadlines.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proven experience within a freight forwarding environment in Sea Freight exports.
Salary/Benefits
  • Circa £30,000 - £38,000, dependent on experience.
  • Contributory pension.
  • 22 days holiday.
