Job summary

Rise Resourcing is seeking a Senior Buyer for the Small Domestic Appliances (SDA) category within a major UK retailer. You will own the SDA strategy, manage a diverse supplier base including branded and own-label ranges, and drive sales, margin, and growth.

You will lead the buying team, negotiate commercial terms, and collaborate with merchandising, marketing and supply chain to ensure category success. This is a high-visibility role requiring strategic thinking and a strong trading mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating at Senior Buyer or Category Manager level in retail.
• Strong SDA knowledge across appliances and consumer electronics.
• Demonstrable success delivering commercial growth and category performance.
• Experience leading and developing buying teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver category strategies that drive sales, margin, and market share growth.
• Manage and optimise product ranges across leading electrical brands and own-label products.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate best-in-class commercial terms.
• Identify emerging trends, customer needs, and market opportunities to maintain a competitive advantage.
• Lead, coach, and develop members of the buying team to maximise performance.
• Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, supply chain, and senior leadership teams to ensure successful category delivery.
• Monitor category performance and implement strategic actions to achieve and exceed targets.
