Role Overview

The successful candidate will characterize biotherapeutic recombinant T-cell receptor molecules and related products using various protein characterization and mass spectrometry techniques. Responsibilities include developing characterization methods such as peptide mapping (LC-MS/MS) and intact mass spectrometry analysis, supporting impurity characterization, and analyzing post-translational modifications like glycosylation.

  • Supporting drug substance and drug product impurity characterization and identification
  • Performing protein sequence analysis and post-translational modification identification
  • Supporting process development through characterization of process intermediates
  • Developing and validating characterization methods for ImmTAX and other products
  • Designing biochemical characterization, stability, and comparability studies
  • Contributing to study protocols and reports
  • Leading investigations and proposing new experiments based on data
  • Providing technical support and guidance to team members
  • Mentoring colleagues and sharing scientific knowledge
  • Ensuring accurate and timely laboratory record keeping
  • Providing technical guidance on laboratory equipment use
  • Communicating research findings effectively in meetings
  • Adhering to safety policies and procedures
Person Specification

Experience & Knowledge (Essential):

  • Experience in HPLC-based peptide mapping and mass spectrometry of recombinant proteins or antibodies
  • Experience in glycosylation analysis of recombinant proteins or antibodies
  • Extensive testing coordination of protein biomolecules
  • Experience with proteins expressed in microbial and mammalian systems
  • Understanding of post-translational modifications
  • Experience working in a biopharmaceutical laboratory environment
  • Expertise in electrophoretic, chromatographic, or mass spectrometry techniques
  • Experience in assay development and stability studies
  • Active contribution to diverse teams and process improvements
  • Experience presenting scientific data internally and externally

Desirable:

  • Further experience in glycosylation analysis, late-stage assay development, GMP principles, conference presentations, project leadership, and clinical trial material support

Education & Qualifications:

  • Essential: BSc or MSc in biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field
  • Desirable: PhD in related discipline
