As a Senior Scientist, you'll play a vital role in developing innovative vaccine solutions by leveraging your expertise in T cell biology and advanced assay techniques. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your contributions will directly influence the future of vaccine development. With a focus on scientific excellence and a commitment to professional growth, this role is perfect for those eager to make a significant impact in the field of immunology and biotechnology.
Opening Senior Scientist - Cellular Immunity
Baseimmune is a discovery stage biotechnology start-up focused on revolutionising vaccines through advanced computational antigen design. Founded by the team that pioneered computational vaccines at the Jenner Institute University of Oxford, our mission is to harness the fields of data science, machine learning and computational biology within a multi-disciplinary team to redefine cross-protective and mutation-proof vaccines.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cellular Immunologist to join the growing lab team at Baseimmune and be a core member of the Translational Research Team responsible for Cellular Immunology workflows and vaccine development. This is a lab-based role that requires a combination of scientific and technical expertise in the field of cell immunology and T cell biology, including MHC antigen processing and TCR function. The role offers the opportunity to work in an innovative and fast-paced research environment, in a growing biotechnology company, where your contributions will directly impact and shape the development of groundbreaking vaccines.
You will provide and apply your cellular immunology expertise to the design, validation, optimisation and execution of cell-based assays required to evaluate our innovative antigen design platforms and characterise T cell responses (quantitatively, qualitatively and functionally) from immunised animal models. You will actively participate in the execution of translational research, design and lead programmes, contribute to strategy and design of the pipeline, and mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of T cell immunology and should be confident in a range of applied immunology assays, including ELISpots, flow cytometry, T-cell activation assays, cytokine assays and mammalian cell transfection/transduction.
