AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior Scientist in Research Informatics & Data Science in Cambridge, UK. Lead the design of data foundations, automate workflows, and develop scalable software to accelerate biologics discovery.

You will work at the intersection of bioinformatics, software engineering, data science, and automation. The role partners with scientists, automation engineers, data scientists, and IT to deliver data products and AI-enabled capabilities, improving data capture, workflow

Qualifications

PhD, MSc, or equivalent in Bioinformatics, Data Science, CS, or related field.
Experience building software solutions using Python and modern engineering practices.
Experience designing data pipelines and integrating heterogeneous scientific data sources.

Responsibilities

Translate biologics discovery workflows into automated, scalable digital products and user-centred solutions.
Develop software including apps, APIs, services, and UIs; establish FAIR data foundations supporting analytics and ML.
Collaborate with scientists, automation engineers, product owners, AI specialists, and IT teams to deliver robust solutions.
