Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a Senior Science Technician in Kensington and Chelsea, West London. The role supports delivery across Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to A Level and leads a small team of technicians. Salary is paid daily for a full-time position with school hours and occasional extended days to cover after-school clubs.

Key responsibilities include leading A-Level practicals, maintaining safety, and stock management. A positive, proactive team player is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering practical science activities and lessons.
• Ability to lead and develop technical staff.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver responsibilities of a Senior Technician within the department.
• Lead, train and support two technicians, including a new starter.
• Lead A-Level Biology practicals and KS3/KS4 practicals (AQA).
• Prepare, set up and clear away equipment for practical lessons.
• Support teaching staff during practicals and demonstrations.
• Care for the department's animals as part of day-to-day duties.
• Maintain laboratories, prep rooms and storage to high safety standards.
• Order and monitor stock of materials, chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure CLEAPSS guidance and safety policies are followed.
• Use Lablogger to manage stock, bookings and workflows.
• Support after-school science clubs two days per week.
