Job description

Senior Science Technician

  • 110 to 145 per day

We are seeking a hardworking and team leader to join the Science department as a Senior Science Technician at a prestigious secondary school in Barnet. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of outstanding science practical's and lessons by leading a supportive team. You will also have some management of the department's finances/stock/ordering supplies- in which experience is ideal. You will also be required to support other science technicians and direct them in their duties accordingly.

You will innovate and introduce new systems to ensure; the safety of staff and students, effectiveness of your team, organisation of resources and effective use of the departmental budget. You will have relevant experience, a good understanding of Health and Safety within labs, knowledge up to GCSE/A-Level science lessons and with suitable science qualifications (for example COSHH/ degree in science).

Requirements

  • Science related degree (BSc/ MSc)
  • Experience within an educational laboratory setting
  • Experience required within a school setting and managing a team.
  • High understanding of laboratory safety/ COSHH regulations in schools.
  • Subject to references and Enahnced DBS Check
