Job summary

Shooters Hill Sixth Form College is looking for a conscientious Senior Science Technician to join our Science Department. The role requires extensive knowledge across science areas and substantial experience as a Science Technician.

You will manage equipment, set up experiments before lessons and oversee budgeting and orders. This position suits an experienced technician seeking promotion or a senior practitioner moving organisations, with term-time plus one week (40 weeks) contract and ongoing

Qualifications

• Senior Science Technician with substantial experience in a science department.
• Excellent organisational skills for equipment maintenance, experiments and budgeting.
• Experience supporting GCSE to A Level science courses.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and set up laboratory equipment before lessons.
• Order supplies and manage departmental budgets.
• Support learners and colleagues across science disciplines.
• Assist with safety, stock control and compliance.

Salary: Scale 6 - Starting from £31,754 (FTE £35,520)

Contract: Full time, term time only plus 1 week (40 weeks), permanent

We are currently seeking to appoint a conscientious and dedicated Senior Science Technician to join our thriving college. The successful candidate will be highly knowledgeable in all science areas and have substantial experience of working as a Science Technician.

Your organisational skills must be excellent as responsibilities will include, maintaining equipment, setting up experiments prior to lessons taking place, ordering and maintaining budgets and more. Learners at the college study a range of science courses from GCSE to A Level.

This role will suit an experienced Senior Technician looking to move organisations, or an experienced Technician looking for promotion to a senior role.
