Job Description:

This school is seeking a reliable, organised and enthusiastic Science Technician to support a busy and successful Science department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in helping deliver practical science lessons that inspire curiosity and engagement in students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Science Technician:

Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and materials for practical science lessons (Biology, Chemistry and Physics).

Ensure the safe storage, handling and disposal of chemicals and equipment, following health and safety guidelines (e.g., CLEAPSS).

Assist teaching staff in the delivery of practical activities, including occasional in-class support.

Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and chemicals and assist with ordering stock.

Carry out regular maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment.

Support the implementation of health and safety policies across the science labs.

Ideal Science Technician:

A good understanding of basic scientific principles and safe laboratory practices.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and time management skills as a Science Technician.

A commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
