Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Supervising School Counsellor to oversee school counsellors across Edinburgh’s secondary schools. The post focuses on providing clinical supervision within a citywide initiative, without direct counselling in assigned schools at present, while supporting supervisees and the teams.

The successful candidate will be fully qualified and registered (COSCA/BACP), with PVG scheme checks, and will contribute to safeguarding and high-quality mental health

Qualifications

• Fully qualified counsellor and supervisor registered with COSCA or BACP.
• Experience supervising school counsellors in educational settings.
• Commitment to safeguarding and PVG scheme requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision to school counsellors across Edinburgh secondary schools.
• Oversee a caseload of supervisees and ensure ethical best practice.
• Work within the citywide strategy for counsellors in schools.
