Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Senior Scheduler on a contract basis. The position will be based in Ipswich / hybrid. If you have a background in major heavy civils or infrastructure projects, especially in enabling or earthworks, we are particularly interested in your profile. The candidate should have experience working in a large-scale project environment and familiarity with integrated schedules within a schedule hierarchy. They should understand how integrated Project Controls management information is achieved. This knowledge, combined with experience on major programmes and projects, will enable the candidate to assure and challenge outputs produced by both their direct reports and the supply chain schedulers they interact with. The candidate should be capable of leading schedule topics, developing schedules from first principles, summarising supply chain schedules, identifying key interfaces, and driving efficiencies, opportunities, and mitigations.

Key responsibilities include:

1. All items detailed in the Job Purpose and accountabilities section.
2. Holding a degree or equivalent in business analysis, accounting, finance, construction, engineering, project management, or related fields.
3. Having a track record as a Senior Scheduler on large and complex infrastructure projects.
4. Possessing expert planning and scheduling knowledge.
5. Extensive experience with Primavera P6.
6. Experience with Acumen Fuse or other schedule quality packages.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
8. Ability to develop programs from first principles and critically interrogate suppliers' programs.
9. Understanding of Schedule Hierarchy, Schedule integration, Schedule change.
10. Ability to promote planning and scheduling across all project levels.
11. Good contract acumen, particularly with the NEC suite and FIDIC.
12. Understanding of QSRA.
13. Knowledge of construction management.
14. Understanding of Design processes.
15. Knowledge of CDM and its impact on scheduling.
16. Experience managing senior stakeholders.
17. Deliverables-focused with strong problem-solving skills.
18. Excellent presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills.
19. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
