Overview

Our client is a British FTSE 35 Company and is one of the largest and most diverse energy companies in the UK. The technical services team are responsible for design and delivery of SCADA, Protection and Control Systems that enables the client’s Network Management Centres (NMC) to manage its extensive Electricity Distribution Network.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Undertake full solution design of SCADA field systems, telecommunication and other auxiliary systems for primary and secondary electrical distribution assets.
• Acting as designated contact for internal and external stakeholders for design reviews and subject matter consultations to ensure standards, business compliance and technical requirements are met.
• Support procurement, delivery, commissioning and maintenance activities.
• Provide training and mentorship for team members and contracting partners on technology, project execution, work processes and procedures.
• Supporting the process of transformation from concept throughout to the business-as-usual adoption as part of the journey towards reaching overall business goals.

Who we’re looking for:

• Must have bachelor degree in Computing, Science, Electronics or Engineering. Due to the technical nature of the role, previous experience in a similar context is preferred.
• You will have working experience in Substation Control Systems, Distribution Grid Automation, RTUs, IEDs, Operational Technology Networks and will demonstrate competency in most common Serial/TCP based electrical utility SCADA protocols and standards. Familiarity with various telecoms services and telemetry systems will be an added advantage.
• Further to the technical requirements, you will be safety focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills; you should be comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
