IntaPeople Limited is hiring a Senior IT Project Manager (SAP/ERP) to lead a major ERP transformation from SAP ECC toward S/4HANA and other platforms. This is a highly technical PM role requiring hands-on SAP knowledge, strong stakeholder management, and experience in international rollouts.

Senior IT Project Manager SAP | ERP Transformation

South Wales | Hybrid with European & International Travel

IntaPeople are pleased to be appointed to recruit a Senior Technical SAP focussed Project Manager for a global manufacturing business that is thriving across its international markets and has no signs of slowing down. This is a permanent opportunity to join the business during a major ERP transformation programme, expected to run for around the next 10+ years.

The business currently runs SAP ECC and is exploring S/4HANA alongside other ERP options to roll out across its global sites. As the Technical SAP Project Manager, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering this programme, working closely with senior stakeholders, consultants, operations, finance, IT and external partners.

This role is a backfill for an existing Senior Project Manager who is moving into another area of the business so they will shadow and oversee the transition with you, giving you a strong handover and continuity from day one.

This is not just a project management role. It is a highly technical Project Manager position, and candidates must bring strong hands-on technical knowledge of SAP/ERP systems alongside proven project delivery.

Key responsibilities at a glance (further candidate pack available on request):

• ERP Transformation: Help shape and deliver a long-term ERP transformation, from SAP ECC towards S/4HANA OR alternative ERP platforms.
• Technical Project Delivery: Lead SAP/ERP projects end to end, from scoping and technical design through to testing, cutover, go-live and hypercare.
• International Rollouts: Manage deployments across sites in Europe and internationally, travelling to support local teams.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior stakeholders across operations, finance and IT, keeping the business aligned and informed.
• Partner Management: Manage SAP implementation partners and third-party suppliers to agreed scope, cost and quality.
• Governance & Reporting: Own project plans, budgets, risks and issues, reporting progress to steering committees.
• Handover & Continuity: Work alongside the outgoing project manager during a structured transition.

Experience (at a glance):

• Proven experience as a Technical SAP/ERP Project Manager, delivering end-to-end SAP projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA, and wider ERP systems.
• Experience delivering projects across multiple sites or countries.
• Comfortable with regular European and international travel.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, from site teams to senior leadership.
• Experience managing budgets, plans, risks and third-party partners.
• Experience of ECC to S/4HANA migration or ERP selection would be advantageous.
• Experience within manufacturing, automotive or supply chain environments would be advantageous.
• Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP or SAP Activate would be advantageous.

Travel & working pattern:

• Travel is fully expensed door to door.
• European visits are typically a couple of days at a time.
• International visits, including Indonesia and North America, can be a maximum of 2-3 weeks at a time, usually 3-4 times per year.
• Onsite presence in South Wales is required, typically 1 day per week, or 2 days one week and none the next, depending on your location. This can also be flexible and discussed at interview stage but this is NOT a remote role.
• Culture is ingrained throughout the business, so you must be comfortable with regular travel and onsite visits.

This role is commutable from Swansea, Cardiff, Newport, Bristol and the Midlands, with flexibility for candidates further afield depending on location.
