Job description

Our client, a leading Investment Bank is seeking to hire a Senior Sanctions Risk Assessment SME on an initial 6 month basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Design a business wide threat-based UK Sanctions Risk and Control Assessment methodology for UK CIB (leveraging an existing Sanctions Risk Assessment and data output)
• Build, test and document the UK Sanctions Risk and Control Assessment tool based on the agreed methodology (Dependent on the profiles/experience available, this step may be completed by another resource with the required IT skills)
• Deliver training on the methodology and tools to the UK Financial Security SMEs and 1LoD.
• Work with the UKFS SMEs to perform check and challenge over the completed Risk Assessment. Providing feedback to the 1LoD teams.

Key Skills

• Designed a business wide threat-based UK Sanctions Risk and Control Assessment methodology and data strategy for a CIB firm (within the last 3 years)
• UK Financial Sanctions and Trade Controls SME with strong appreciation of EU/US programmes and divergence between UK and these programmes
• Delivered training on UK Sanctions Risk and Control Assessment methodologies and tools to stakeholders at different levels of seniority (1LoD/2LoD).
• Detailed understanding of a wide range of Investment Banking products across Capital Markets, Trade Finance, Custody and Global Banking
• Technical Excel/SharePoint/other skills required to build, test, and document a sustainable UK Sanctions Risk and Control Assessment Tool, based on an agreed methodology developed, per above.
• Performed check and challenge over completed UK Sanctions Risk and Control Assessments.
