Sage in Winnersh (Reading area), UK hybrid role for a Senior Salesforce Developer within Product Engineering. You will own complex Salesforce feature work, shape technical design, and contribute to architecture decisions in a mature product environment.

We're hiring Senior Salesforce Developer - Product Engineering Team (ISV) in Winnersh (Reading area), UK Hybrid (3 days onsite)

We're looking for a senior hands-on Salesforce engineer who can go beyond feature delivery: someone able to understand business complexity, shape technical design, contribute to architecture decisions, and help build scalable, maintainable solutions within a mature Salesforce product environment.

Key Responsibilities

What you'll be doing
As a Senior Salesforce Developer, you will take ownership of complex technical delivery while contributing to the design and architecture of our Salesforce-based product. You will work hands-on with Apex, SOQL, JavaScript, Salesforce Lightning, Lightning Web Components, VisualForce and APIs, while helping define robust technical approaches for scalable product features.

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise-grade Salesforce product features with a strong focus on scalability, maintainability and performance
• Translate complex business requirements into clear technical designs and robust implementation plans
• Contribute actively to Salesforce architecture discussions, design reviews and long-term product decisions
• Apply strong object-oriented design principles, automated testing practices, code quality standards and CI/CD ways of working
• Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, technical guidance and knowledge sharing

This is a senior hands-on development role with genuine technical depth. It is not an admin or configuration-focused position: we are looking for someone who enjoys building, designing and improving complex Salesforce product capabilities.

What we're looking for

Core skills

• Strong hands-on Salesforce development experience, ideally within a product, SaaS or ISV environment
• Advanced knowledge of Apex, SOQL, JavaScript, Salesforce Lightning and Lightning Web Components
• Good understanding, and ideally practical experience, of Salesforce solution design and architecture
• Ability to design scalable, secure and maintainable solutions while considering Salesforce platform limits, data model, integrations and performance
• Solid object-oriented programming background, for example in Java or C#, with strong software engineering fundamentals

Nice to have

• Experience contributing to architecture reviews, technical roadmaps or design governance
• Exposure to Salesforce REST APIs, integrations and enterprise application architecture
• Experience with Git, Jira, IntelliJ, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies
• Salesforce Platform Developer certification, or architecture-related Salesforce certifications
• Interest in AI-driven product capabilities and how they can be embedded into Salesforce-based solutions
