Job description

About The Role

Although this role can be remote, we may ask if you can travel to Stroud for team activities once a month. The Ecotricity Technology department is a small, friendly team with a strong focus on results, with everyone committed to delivering both individually and as part of the group/project.

We have a strong internal team supporting and developing solutions across multiple mission-critical platforms including Salesforce (Service and Sales). This hands-on role of Salesforce Developer is primarily about delivering system changes and improvements, while leveraging your experience to maximize our Salesforce investment.

What you will do

You will help maintain and grow our Salesforce platform, used by our internal sales & service agents, customers via our mobile app and online account, as well as prospective customers.

We use a variety of Salesforce services, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Omnistudio & Mobile Publisher.

As part of the role, you will

  1. Lead a team of Salesforce admins/developers delivering Salesforce changes.
  2. Work collaboratively with the Salesforce Tech Lead to develop best practices, streamline throughput, and ensure high-quality output.
  3. Provide technical input in discussions with management and stakeholders.
  4. Work on new functionalities, changes, and faults, including complex tasks as appropriate.
  5. Seek opportunities to upskill and cross-train with peers.

About You

You will have extensive technical experience working with Salesforce at a developer level, including integrations, custom component development, and modern deployment techniques. Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and ownership of technical delivery are essential. You should be comfortable working with project managers and stakeholders, presenting and demoing solutions routinely. Good communication skills and self-motivation are required, along with a commitment to best practices and continuous improvement.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Extensive Salesforce development experience (Apex triggers, classes, asynchronous Apex, API Integrations, Platform Events, LWCs, Sites).
  • Experience with DevOps processes and software development lifecycle.
  • Experience mentoring team members.
  • Understanding when to use declarative capabilities vs developed solutions.
  • Object-oriented programming experience.
  • Web development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) are advantageous.
  • Experience with Salesforce Energy & Utilities Cloud (Vlocity) is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working in an agile environment, using tools like Jira.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

About Us

What's in it for you...

  • Healthcare plan, life assurance, and pension contributions.
  • Volunteering day.
  • Hybrid working.
  • Company discounts (shops, gyms, events).
  • Holiday of 25 days plus bank holidays, with buy/sell options.
  • Cycle to work, carpooling, onsite parking.

Supporting our environmental policies and sustainability objectives is part of your role.
